BORACAY on August
Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I wrote here on my blog. I decided to write again since I'm in the process of bringing back what I love and that is writing. Once in a while, I enjoy writing my thoughts, musings or anything that is happening in my life and for me, it's kind of liberating and therapeutic on my part.As you did not know, I'm kind of struggling with my mental issues lately, well, it started last 2017 and ever since I've been meaning to cope and discover some remedies to ease it. Anyway, it will be another topic for my blog next time. πππ
Ever since the summer, I've been meaning to visit the beach but due to some events that I need to prioritize I said to myself, "Nah, maybe next time" I'm saying that to myself throughout the summer until it went by breezily. I kind of regret being a "Tita" and waste my summer days on my house, you see, I'm a bit of a loner and introvert that I always postpone things that I know that could help me become independent. So moral lesson of the day, SEIZE THE MOMENT BECAUSE YOU WILL ONLY PASS YOUR AGE ONCE (capslock yan para intense).
Good thing though, my mother decided a last-minute trip to Boracay for a night. It's her treat to us since she was promoted as Principal II in her school (Yay!). I decided to go since I'm itching to go to the beach ever since summer (for so many months, finally!). Good thing Boracay is about 3-4 hours away from our home.
Anyhow, without further ado. I'll post some pictures of how I spent my overnight adventure in Boracay with my family.
We left the house around 9:30 AM and arrived at our hotel at 2 PM. We decided to have lunch at Andok's just across the Caticlan port since my baby nieces are all hungry. After a hearty lunch we rode a tricycle to Tabon port since the water current in the main port is quite strong and might be dangerous. The fare is 100php if you gonna occupy the tricycle to your destination, we paid only 80php since we have another company. For me, based on my own experience, I prefer the Tabon port because the fees (environmental and terminal) are lesser and it's a 5-minute boat ride only to Boracay port (saves you more time and money *kaching-kaching*).

| One part of the room we rented in Villa de Oro located in Station 2,Boracay *my nieces in action* π |
| Another angle of the room, we have two queen-size beds in our room and 1 bathroom *sorry it's kinda messy*π
We rented a family room in Villa de Oro resort located in Station 2, Boracay. We chose the resort since it's situated just a few meters away from the beach, so it was convenient for us to have a morning swim and to experience Boracay. Plus, the owner of the resort was our former elected Mayor in our hometown so we had some discounts on the said resort as perks of being kasimanwa (living in the same place).
Although our hotel was not cozy or extravagant compared to some fancy hotels in Boracay, for me, it's already good to stay for a night considering the price. We got the room for only 2500 php a night (already cheaper and a good deal considering the location). If you're the person who prefers budget-friendly stays and wants to stay closer to Boracay shoreline, I highly recommend Villa de Oro . You can check there prices and rooms in their website. I will link their website here.
After checking in around 3pm, I decided to take a nap first since I came from my graveyard shift (I work at 9 PM to 5:30 am). I set my alarm at 5pm to get ready for an evening beach stroll. I went out around 6 pm with my 13-year old niece, Gab. Gwynn, my 9-year old niece was still asleep, hence, I was not able to took her with us.
Honestly, we don't have any plans where to go, I just want some cozy place that we could sit and dine, maybe some frappe or anything pasta. I asked my niece what she wanted to eat but, she can't decide tooπ π. We went to D'mall, a to-go-to place in Boracay if you want to shop and dine, yet, all the restaurants are crowded with people, well, mostly tourists (majority are Chinese and Koreans) so we went to Starbucks Boracay.
A new hotel inside D'mall ( I was a bit surprise how fancy and big it was so I took a pic of it with my niece)
I' m curious with this BBQ restaurant, we would like to try eating here but there was a long line of Korean tourists and I don't think our hunger have patience to wait for the queue
Below are some quaint places we took pictures of, just for fun πππ
*Sorry not really a good photographer*πππ
One new thing I've noticed were the influx of Asian restaurants in the island. I've seen a lot of Korean and Chinese restaurant compared before. Heck, I also witness a Filipina singer serenading the Chinese with a Chinese song in a buffet restaurant. It simply proves that Koreans and Chinese are dominating the tourists in Boracay.
I'm an awkward person especially on photo sessions, I'm really not good on cameras π; hence, I prefer selfie-phone camera. Here, was the only decent photo of me that I could find in my camera. I

*Cozy atmosphere*
While lining up and looking for what drinks to order, I've heard the Starbucks crews (which were all Filipinos) speaking Korean language as they were assisting some Korean costumers(also the store crew in 7 Eleven)π². They could really speak well that even their accent (in my perspective) were fluent. How cool was that, huh? πππ Therefore, I conclude, for all the K-dramas fans out there (including me) if you want to learn Korean language, find a job in Boracay πππ
My niece chose Red Velvet frappuccino, a new frappe in the menu. Added a slice of 16K chocolate cake and I decided for matcha frappe for my drink since I want something new and I love the TEAZEN matcha latte (I thought it could be the same HAHA) *regretted it first-hand*π©π
We shared the cake for the two of us because I know we can't finished two slices. Although, I have a sweet-tooth, I can not finish a whole slice of cake especially if it's Chocolate cake. In the picture you can see the matcha frappe that I've ordered, I regretted it soon after my first sip since it tasted like raw fish (no offense to matcha loversπ
). You don't want to have a raw fish flavored drink. Hell nah!π
Note to self: Sometimes it's better to stick on your favorites rather that experimenting something unfamiliar to you. But it's okay to make mistakes on your choices too, charged it to experience as they say!πππ
My beautiful niece with her Red Velvet Frappe, which tasted divine. Also, she's low-key smirking at me for my wrong choice of drink (how much more about life choices?)πππ
We stayed a while in the cafe because it was drizzling outside. While on our way to our hotel, I jokingly asked her if she wants to drink liquor drinks (bad auntie π
π) but good thing she said NO! ππ
We arrived at the hotel around 8 PM and since we are full of sweets treats, we decided to eat a little for dinner. I ordered Pork Sisig on the hotel and my sister ordered pancit guisado for the kids (they love any kinds of noodles) and a box of Shakey's pizza my sister got for free (freebies of BPI credit card holder).
It was a beautiful night outside, as much as I want to enjoy the music and the chance to roam around the night life in island, my "Tita" self decided otherwise. I slept around 10 PM (how loser I could get) since drinking beer alone watching a live-band music in
I woke up early and only got a few hours of sleep (my anxiety and depression decided to show up that night such a buzzkill ππ’) but then it's a beautiful morning to waste so, I got up and wore my one-piece swimsuit and headed for a morning swim with my family.
*My nieces being lazy and sleepy before heading out*
After our invigorating morning swim, we head out to enjoy the sun and explore the Boracay has to offer.
*Gayle was more interested with the sand than strolling around*π
My sister having a dilemma of what color of sarong to choose π
Enjoying her own way to explore
Everytime I go back to Boracay, as much as possible I make sure to buy Boracay Taho. For me, they have the best version of TAHO so far (in par with strawberry taho I had in Tagaytay a few years ago) I enjoyed my moment savoring this delicious 20php cup of taho (I could have it everydayπ)
While strolling, we found this cute and artsy instagram photo frame. So I let the cuties enjoy their moments *simple joys*ππ
We chill a bit by eating here in the famous Halo Mango. A go-to-place if you want some ice cream/ halo-halo desserts.
I will never get tired of coming back to this paradise. One of God's masterpieces here on Earth.
After our stroll, we headed back to our hotel and checked out because we're going to my Aunties (cousins of my mother). My Auntie Katong is the distributor of Pepsi products in the whole island so, she's been living there for years.
One of the best bulalo I had. Thank you, Aunties for the gastronomic treats ππ
Auntie Zita loves to cook and experiment on the kitchen. One of her specialties is making (guilt-free) pizzas, which are to-die-for π Ugh! I could still taste her mouth-watering pizza while typing this. Yep, I'm craving right now. *sigh* π’

After visiting our relatives, we decided to go home. We rode the bus just in time for it's departure, it took us about more than 3 hours to reached home. I hurriedly lay my aching back on my bed and rest my feet. Having this one-night weekend trip might be short and tiring; yet, I'm just glad that we maximized our time to enjoy and relax. In the end, we have to be always thankful of quality time we were able to spent with our family be it a grand or simple.
Thank you for reading my little space in the virtual world π
Until then...
K.
